Crocheting again, finishing up another rug.

I almost forgot about this stash of yarn I had so I started working on another crochet rag rug. I am using some bulky light and lofty yarn and it is coming with quite the design, this picture does not quite give it justice. I will have to get some better pictures of it later. Yup, I will show more of the finished rug a little later this week.
I have to mention how excited I am this week, I got an A in college algebra! I have been going back to school for several reasons. One is we need more than one income and the other is logging is really suffering. Because logging is suffering so are the log trucks it has been quite hard these past few weeks but I have faith we will come through as always.
But back to the A , good heavens I never that it would be possible to do that good in math at my age! I am shocking the heck out of my 15 year old son. He thinks its just to wild that his mom is getting good grades and setting a good example.
So far in school I have been carrying a 4.00 average! it just blows the mind away that this gal is doing it.
What great weather we have been having, although it has brought out every entire flea out and into my house. Yikes, I have been bombing, shampooing, using this salt product and still the dogs look like raw hamburger! The poor hot dog has no hair from chewing and other 2 small dogs are going bald.
It is just the craziest weather here on the Oregon coast this year, from freezing to flooding to like summer conditions.
Well time to bath some dogs again!

A Reminder of What to do with left over Roast Beef

Yesterday I opened the refrigerator and saw the roast still just looming there, so I asked the question. What the heck can I do with left over roast?
Finally the answer was right in front of me, soup, make a soup.
I then began slicing up the roast and a bunch of potatoes along with onions. I then threw it into my slow cooker pot and added about 5-8 cups of water and let it cook for a while. After a little, about an hour or two I added about 2 table spoons of flour slowly and make sure it dissolved, I then added 2 packets of mushroom gravy mix. I made sure that also dissolved and I let it all cook on low for several hours.
I also made some corn bread to go along with this roast beef soup. It really turned out yummy!
The flour and the gravy mixes just thicken a little so that it was kind of in between a soup and stew.
I think one could do a lot more with this, adding green, red peppers, celery, maybe instead of potatoes, rice. Then serve it with fresh baked bread or like I did warm corn bread, the ideas are endless to what one can do with a old left over roast.
I saved some and took this picture just to show how it turned out. Letting it cook all day, made the meat just nice and tender one is able to soak up the juices with a nice warm piece of corn bread.

Finished 2 Projects; The Rain kept me Busy Creating.

Morning to everyone! well the rain has stopped, thank goodness I believe Astoria got a total of 7 inches. So while it was pouring down I did 2 things at once. I finished a pretty Dollie for a round table. It is large measuring 22x22 so it could work for the center of a round dinning table or a round end table.
I used a yarn called country creme and my 10 crochet hook. I designed a special stitch so that part of the swirl stands out or has a raise to the swirl. Then I added some fringe and it came out quite nice looking. I will be adding it to my store It's Just Krazy Kute Productions

Now onto the next project this one was a little one I made a 5 1/2 inch paper box into a pretty aged or primitive box. I plan on adding the little box and offering the box and instructions on how to make the box primitive, and you can purchase the box along with instructions for creating a pretty little aged looking box and so that you can do this with other boxes that might be larger. I will be adding these shortly along with the wool crochet rag rug for purchasing.

The Little Crowing around wall quilt

This my next project to finish this cute wall hanging quilt that I started way back in Oct before I got quite ill and the silly camera broke down on me.
My back round is a cotton flannel that I am working on and the crows are cotton fabrics along with all the other piece's.
I hand cut out all the pieces, using no patterns, just an idea that was created in my head. Then I cut out fabric for a back round and use thread to sew the crows, fence, bushes and flower on; I also use just a dab of stick glue to attach and design the story I am creating, in this case its some little crows fluttering about in glee.
I will begin to sew and use decorative stitching around the cut out pieces. Next I will use some quilting batting and back and design a way to hand this cute wall quilt. I also might use some buttons for eyes and to add a little more decorative touch to the quilt. I am almost done with it, so keep an eye out for the finished product.

Finished Crochet wool rag rug

I finished a 22x22 acrylic wool crochet rag rug over the last week. At first I was going to do this rug with a blue and white yarn and then decided the rug needed to be heavier. So I got out some dark green and dark orange and got a very pretty acrylic wool rag rug. I used a 10 1/2 hook to make this rug and just some basic stitches to create it.
Sorry about the picture, as I still do not have a good camera and do I miss my old one! Plus it has been raining non stop since Saturday! and it has been dark and gray on the Oregon coast so getting the camera to stop telling me its too dark has been a small challenge.
I will be putting the rug into It's Just Krazy Kute Productions later on next week.

Bisquick Cinnamon Rolls

Good morning to everyone!
I have a very simple way to make cinnamon rolls to go with a hot cup of coffee, tea, cocoa or just a tall glass of cold milk.
Normally you can find this recipe on any box of Jiffy mix but you can also use Bisquick mix.
What you will need:
Milk
sugar
brown sugar
cinnamon
Jiffy mix or Bisquick
sweet milk
powdered sugar
melted butter or margin
I just add as much mix as I feel will feed all of us but on the Jiffy mixes there are instructions on how much to add to a bowl and I believe its 2 to 3 cups. I prefer to use milk but you can use water. Add the milk gradually until all the forms together and you can knead it like one would do to bread dough. Knead the dough and roll it out on a floured surface. Spread about 1/2 cup of melted butter or margin onto dough add cinnamon, sugar, brown sugar. Roll dough and slice. ( The reason I am not giving any precise measurements is because you can use your own ideas and imagination for creating these yummy rolls.) Place rolls into a well grease baking pan about 9x11. Bake for about 20 min at 350 or until they look done. Now add sweet milk and powdered sugar to a small bowl mix together until you have a glaze that can be spread or drizzled onto slightly cooled rolls. This is just one idea you can use to create these cinnamon rolls, but there are endless ideas on what one can do to change these rolls and the recipe is so very simple.

Working on a New Crochet rug

Well I am off to a good crochet start, I started working on a rug during the holiday and I am still busy working on on it. I will make sure it becomes about a medium size crochet rug, I am using my smaller hook and doing some very basic stitches.
Oh I am just so excited Polar Bear won diary of the d
ay on Dogster. com Yeah for you special boy!

We also have a new dog to the family, that's right another dog and she is something special Lilly was adopted from some family members who no longer can care for her or were taking take of her correctly. I hate admitting my niece's boyfriend was not being smart by abusing this little girl. Holly cow is she hard to get to hold still for a picture but this is her anyway. She has her sweater on her and was wiggling around while I was trying to get the picture.
I hope she realizes one day no one will hurt her ever again, we just love her lots also.
