What I have been Creating and working on this Week

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July! It was a quiet one for me so I decided to get in the mood for up coming holidays and I felt like doing a little painting. I whipped out my acrylic paints and oil pastels! and got to work with a fever! The first one is a painted plate with a silly black cat, can you tell what month I am thinking about?? I painted the plate with acrylics and added a cute saying or quote from an unknown author. After I finished painting the plate I baked it in the oven so that it is sealed. I still don't think one should eat off these plates they are just for decor only.

I was still in the Oct mood when I painted this scary mummy! Actually he is not so scary but on the side of scary cute! I get these cute chalk boards at Jo Ann's fabric store in the crafting section and I love painting them. I did the mummy in oils and acrylics, because I love mixing the two mediums for a great effect sometimes.

Suddenly my mood went from Oct to ... well you guessed it! Christmas! So I did another little chalkboard painting this time with snow and a little black crow with some strange decorated trees! The chalkboards are just little wall hanging decors for the seasons that pass by and that goes for the plates, they are meant just for a little fun with the holidays!
My next project is a doll I am finishing up and I want to whack out a quilt but I not sure what holiday, most likely for Halloween or I am thinking about doing a cute fall quilt. These will soon be in my Etsy store so I hope you will check out both my Etsy stores.

Upside Pineapple Bars

Yesterday I was busy doing some baking for my guys and I made them one of their favorites upside pineapple cake bars. This recipe is really simple and a bargain being I can get white cake mixes usually on sale for .89 cents at my local store.
There is 2 ways I make these either moist or crunchy! both ways are yum!
For the most ones I take one white cake mix add 2 eggs, dump a can of large sliced pineapples and the juice all in to the cake mix and mix it up. Next I spread the dough into a large well greased baking dish, then I will melt 1 to 1 1/2 cups of butter on my stove and then add the butter to 2 cups of brown sugar and mix until its moist but crumbly. I then sprinkle this onto my unbaked cake mixture and place in the over at 350 degrees or until golden brown and tooth pick comes out clean.
I do the crunchy simple by mixing either 2 boxes of white cake mix or 1 1/2 mixes, adding only one egg and slowly adding about 1/2 or less of the pineapple juice and pineapple the brown sugar mixture remains the same. The mixture should lots stiffer like cookie dough and this will be a little harder to spread into larger baking dish and the dough will not rise as much as the moist recipe. But baking is the same, bake at 350 degrees and until tooth pick comes out clean, let cool then slice and serve.
There is so much one can do with a cake mix, bake all kinds of cookies by just adding one egg and reducing the water and it's faster cooking, but simple for those who don't have lots of time. I like it because you get home goodies for less and more. I have to say the white cake mix is my favorite because I get great peanut butter cookies, oatmeal cookies and yummy cinnamon rolls.
