Shake, Rattle and Roll

Good heavens it felt like an earth quake all yesterday; the house shook and rattled with the construction going on outside my home.
What's going in is the pipeline to the new sewer system.
The large cat was tearing up the road and the dump truck hauling the road away, you can also see the pipeline going in on the roadway.
The entire house shook and rattled things fell off shelves and my dogs ran and hid under pillows. Polar bear who mind you is suppose to be filled with courage ran into my bedroom and and hid under the bedspread because he could not get under the bed.
Personally I have mixed feeling about the new sewer it has been costly for us. In 99 I and my family lost everything to a fire , everything in our home was lost.
In making a long story short the contractor thought he could get around not having to replace the septic. He was wrong!
Insurance did not cover it and so all the money for contents in the house went for a new septic system. My house is new and the septic is new, being only 6 years old. We were told that we would have to contribute and pay for the new sewer so all the money for the septic is just tossed to the wind, more than 25, 000 dollars.
Another reason for mixed feelings is we all were paying for the new sewer for a number of years when someone in the company stole all that money! Yes I said stole it and we all had to start over once again accept this time the prices went up, doubling the cost. Less I have some mixed feeling because I have heard now the new sewer will not be running until next Dec and I am hoping with all the rattling and shaking that the foundation on the house does not crack.

Well the Crochet Rag Rug is completed along with some Mini Crochet Baskets

I have finished this wonderful crochet rag rug it will measure 23x23. I love being different and creating my rag rugs from yarn or secondhand sheets.
In this rug I used 2 different yarns and my 10 1/2 crochet hook to create this one. The yarns were what you would call super bulky and the first yarn was a gold wheat color and the other has greens, reds, browns all combined.
Now had this left over yarn and what was there to do with it?
I began crocheting with the idea of 2 small baskets and that is exactly what I got.
They might look a little wild and that is because I used the green wool and the bulky right together and out came 2 interesting mini baskets.

Crocheting again, finishing up another rug.

I almost forgot about this stash of yarn I had so I started working on another crochet rag rug. I am using some bulky light and lofty yarn and it is coming with quite the design, this picture does not quite give it justice. I will have to get some better pictures of it later. Yup, I will show more of the finished rug a little later this week.
I have to mention how excited I am this week, I got an A in college algebra! I have been going back to school for several reasons. One is we need more than one income and the other is logging is really suffering. Because logging is suffering so are the log trucks it has been quite hard these past few weeks but I have faith we will come through as always.
But back to the A , good heavens I never that it would be possible to do that good in math at my age! I am shocking the heck out of my 15 year old son. He thinks its just to wild that his mom is getting good grades and setting a good example.
So far in school I have been carrying a 4.00 average! it just blows the mind away that this gal is doing it.
What great weather we have been having, although it has brought out every entire flea out and into my house. Yikes, I have been bombing, shampooing, using this salt product and still the dogs look like raw hamburger! The poor hot dog has no hair from chewing and other 2 small dogs are going bald.
It is just the craziest weather here on the Oregon coast this year, from freezing to flooding to like summer conditions.
Well time to bath some dogs again!
